Baby names: how it works

शिशु नामकरण: यह कैसे काम करता है

How VedAvatar finds the namakshar from the birth nakshatra and pada, and suggests meaningful baby names with a numerology check.

Step by step

  1. Enter the baby's details: Surname, boy or girl, and the date of birth; the time of birth is optional. The form starts with your active profile's details, so change them to the baby's.
  2. Add your wishes: If you like, describe the style you want, such as modern or traditional, add a name idea, and give the parents' names and birth dates.
  3. Reveal the names: A list of names in Hindi and English letters, each with its meaning, its starting syllable (namakshar) and why it suits the baby's chart and numbers, with a PDF to share with the family (₹79).

Good to know

Must the name start with the namakshar?
It is a tradition, not a rule. Some families use a namakshar name for ceremonies and another name at home.

We don't know the exact time of birth. Can we still use it?
Yes. The time is optional; without it, the names are grouped by the starting syllables that are possible for that day.
