Privacy Policy

गोपनीयता नीति

This policy explains what personal data VedAvatar collects, why, and the choices you have. VedAvatar is responsible for your data under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

1. What we collect

• Account: name, email address, a mobile number if you choose to give one (it is not verified and not used to sign in), sign-in method, language and preferences, and the consent you gave when the account was made (with its date and version).
• Birth profiles: name, gender, date, time and place of birth (with map coordinates) for you and for people you add.
• What you give us for a reading: questions, names for numerology, partner details for matching, and photos of a palm, face or handwriting for analysis (used for that reading and its PDF, then deleted: see section 9).
• What we create for you: readings, reports, chat messages with Ask Guru and our AI astrologers, and short notes that help a later consultation continue.
• Payments: amount, plan, wallet transactions and payment reference numbers. Card, UPI and bank details are handled by our payment partner and never stored by us.
• Technical: browser and device information, settings saved in your browser, notification tokens if you allow notifications, and security logs.
• Security information: a coded form of a random identifier kept in your browser and of the network address from which you create your account, used to protect accounts and to prevent misuse of offers such as the welcome credit. We do not store the identifier or the address themselves.
• Requests you send us: for a personal consultation, or to hear when a service launches: your full name, date, time and place of birth, mobile number, email address, a preferred time for a call, and up to three questions if you add them.
• Invitations: if you join through a member's invitation link, we record which member invited you, so that both of you can receive the referral credit. The member sees only how many friends joined and took a plan, not who they are.

2. How we use it

To calculate charts and create your readings, run your account, wallet and plans, answer support requests, send notifications you have switched on, keep VedAvatar secure (for example rate limits and fraud checks), and understand overall usage so we can improve the service.

We do not sell your personal data, and we never use your photos to train AI models. To improve our measurements and reading rules we may study, without names and in aggregate, the numbers measured from photos (such as face or palm proportions), the rules a reading used and how readings are rated.

3. AI processing

To write a reading or answer a question, the details it needs (birth details, your question, and the photo for a photo reading) are sent securely to our AI service provider to produce that answer. Photos are used for that analysis only and are not stored on our servers. In live calls your voice is processed in real time to create the replies and is not recorded. We do not use your photos, readings or birth details to train AI models.

4. Who we share it with

Only with service providers that help us run VedAvatar (cloud hosting and storage, sign-in, notifications, payments, email delivery, AI processing, place-name lookup and security), and only what each needs for its task, under their duties of confidentiality and data protection. When you type a birthplace, only the place name is looked up. If you use voice typing, your browser's own speech service turns speech into text. We do not sell your data and do not share it with advertisers.

We disclose data to a court or a government authority only when the law requires it, and only what is required. On request, we will tell you which service providers have processed your personal data, as the law entitles you to know.

Some of these providers may store or process data outside India.

5. How long we keep it

We keep your account data while your account is active. You can delete profiles and readings in the app at any time. When you ask us to delete your account, we erase your personal data, except payment records that Indian tax and accounting laws require us to keep.

Photos are not kept: they are deleted once the reading and its PDF are made (section 9). The measurements taken from them stay with the reading until you delete the reading, the profile or your account.

Requests for a consultation or for news of a launch are kept for up to one year. The coded record that a device or an email address has already received the welcome credit is kept so that the offer stays once per person.

6. Your rights

You can ask to access, correct or erase your personal data, withdraw consent, or raise a grievance by writing to support.vedavatar@gmail.com. We may need to confirm your identity first.

7. Children

VedAvatar is meant for adults. A parent or guardian may add a child's birth details (for example for child naming) and is responsible for that consent.

8. Security and browser storage

Sign-in uses an industry-standard identity service, connections are encrypted, and each account can reach only its own records. No system is perfectly secure, so please keep your login safe.

We use your browser's storage to keep you signed in, remember your language and settings, and keep your recent readings on your device so they open quickly. They are removed from the device when you sign out. We do not use advertising cookies or analytics trackers.

9. Photos

• What happens to a photo: it is checked on your device (for example that a face or a hand is in it), a face or palm is measured on your device, and the photo is sent securely to our AI service provider to write the reading. During that visit it is shown in the app and printed in the PDF report. A photo added to a Kundali report is only shown and printed, never sent.
• Deletion: we do not save photos to our database, our servers or your reading history. The copy the app holds in memory goes when you start a new reading, sign out or close the app, and copies left on a device by older versions of the app are removed when it opens.
• What we keep: the measurements (numbers such as face or palm proportions), the result of the photo check, the rules the reading used, and the date and version of your photo acknowledgement. Never the image. These stay with the reading and help us improve our measurements and reading rules (section 2).
• Consent: before the first photo the app asks you to confirm that the photo is yours or that the person agreed. Whoever adds a photo is responsible for having that consent (Terms, section 11).
